The big porch defines this remodeled home giving it a welcoming craftsman facade in the surfing capital of Encinitas, California. It both protects the house from the harsh western sun and ties the existing one story wing to the new two story house. La Cantina wood bi-fold french doors open the kitchen to the tropical rear patio and yard.

As structural engineer of several homes Caroline has designed, I noticed how thoroughly she considered every aspect of the home, be it a modern or traditional style. I knew she would create a functional and eye-pleasing home for my family. We love the house and appreciate her talent every day.
